Movement with purpose. Practice grounded in evidence.

Biokinetics is the science of using structured, individualised movement and exercise to support physical function, rehabilitation, health and performance.

Tiffani Africa Biokineticist is grounded in this principle: movement should be purposeful, progressive and appropriate to the individual.

With a background spanning clinical rehabilitation, exercise prescription, functional fitness, healthy ageing and strength and conditioning, the practice considers movement as an important part of supporting people across different stages of life and levels of physical ability.

My Approach

Exercise programmes are developed following a comprehensive assessment and are tailored to each individual’s needs, goals and current level of function. Care is guided by current evidence and clinical reasoning, with an emphasis on safe, progressive rehabilitation and lifelong movement.

Areas of Practice

Biokinetics can form part of a person’s journey through rehabilitation, health and performance.

Areas of practice include:

Rehabilitation
Exercise-based rehabilitation following injury, surgery or periods of reduced physical function.

Orthopaedic & Musculoskeletal Care
Structured exercise to support strength, mobility, stability and functional capacity.

Healthy Ageing
Movement and exercise programmes designed to support strength, balance, mobility, independence and physical function.

Strength & Conditioning
Exercise prescription for individuals and sporting environments, with an emphasis on physical preparation, movement quality and performance.

Functional Fitness & Wellness
Exercise aimed at developing strength, mobility, conditioning and the physical capacity required for everyday life.

A Background in Sport & Movement

Sport has been part of the foundation of this professional journey. Tiffani represented provincial and university-level netball teams, including the Dr Kenneth Kaunda Netball Team, NWU Netball Team and Varsity Cup squad. Her sporting background later developed into experience in coaching, strength and conditioning and movement-based exercise. Professional experience has included work within biokinetics practices, schools, sporting environments and group exercise settings, providing exposure to rehabilitation, orthopaedic populations, healthy ageing, strength and conditioning and functional exercise.

Continuing to Learn

Evidence-based practice requires continued learning.

Tiffani is currently completing a Master of Health Sciences in Biokinetics at North-West University, further developing her academic and research understanding of exercise-based rehabilitation and functional outcomes.

The aim is not simply to apply what is already known, but to continue asking better questions about how movement and exercise can be used effectively within rehabilitation and health.

The Philosophy:
Renew. Rebuild. Restore.

Renew: reconnect with movement and physical capability.

Rebuild: develop strength, capacity and confidence through progressive exercise.

Restore: support function, independence and quality of life through purposeful movement.

Biokinetics brings together science, assessment and exercise to help people move through their rehabilitation, health or performance journey with a programme that is appropriate to where they are now.
